I was jig fishing where a small river meets a lake in New York during late summer or early fall (early September). I was fishing by twitching and jigging a variety of bucktail jigs and curly tail jigs over underwater slopes and drop-offs. I landed a couple of decent bass, with the biggest smallmouth bass of the night being a little over 17″. Then, I hooked into the third decently big rock bass (at 11″) that I caught out of the river that summer. Finally, I started night fishing by twitching jigs by feel and landed another big rock bass and a smaller one.

This is one of many videos in the Lure Fishing series — watch others for triple-digit numbers of fish, trophy fish, the tips and techniques I pick up along the way, and more!
